Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, debuted in New Mutants #98 (1991), created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. A former mercenary with a twisted sense of humor, he gained a healing factor from the Weapon X program. Known as the “Merc with a Mouth,” Deadpool breaks the fourth wall, mixes brutal action with comedy, and blurs the line between hero and antihero in his chaotic, unpredictable adventures.
