Greetings adventurers! We’re thrilled to have you join us for an exciting journey into the realms of imagination, storytelling, and adventure. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time explorer, this is a space for everyone to enjoy the magic of Dungeons & Dragons.
Before we embark on this epic quest, it’s important to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe playing experience and environment. By registering and participating, you agree to the following Behavioral and Social Rules that help create a welcoming, respectful, and fun environment for all:
· Fun First, Always:
o Dungeons & Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game where fun is the ultimate goal. Whether you’re rolling epic crits, engaging in hilarious roleplay, or facing thrilling challenges, remember that the purpose of the game is to enjoy the journey together.
o Embrace the Unexpected: Dice rolls and unpredictable moments are part of the adventure. Celebrate them!
o Support Each Other: Cheer on your fellow players’ successes and help turn setbacks into opportunities for creative storytelling. Strive to build an inclusive atmosphere where every player feels appreciated and integrated.
o D&D is a collaborative game. Work together to overcome challenges and celebrate shared victories. Avoid actions that disrupt group harmony or dominate the gameplay.
o While creative solutions and the 'Rule of Cool' can enhance the experience, maintaining balance with the game’s structure ensures coherent and enjoyable gameplay. The Dungeon Master has the final word on gameplay decisions, ensuring fairness, consistency, and the flow of the adventure.
o Laugh Together: Humor and shared joy make the experience unforgettable. Don’t take the game—or yourself—too seriously.
· Engagement:
o Focus on the game during sessions and limit distractions, like the use of phones for non-game related activities. This shows respect for the effort and time of everyone involved and helps maintain the game’s flow.
o Please keep cell phone use to a minimum and for emergencies only.
o Come prepared and please stay in your seat or area during the game
· Communication:
o If something isn’t fun for you, speak up respectfully. The group can adjust to ensure everyone enjoys the adventure.
o Active Listening: Be attentive and empathetic when someone shares their discomfort or the need to adjust game content. Responding with understanding is essential.
· Personal Boundaries:
o The comfort and emotional safety of all players is paramount. It’s crucial to honor everyone’s sensitivities and respect personal boundaries.
o Ask Before Touching: Do not touch another player’s dice, miniatures, character sheets, or personal belongings without their permission.
o Physical Space: Be mindful of personal space. Avoid crowding others or invading their comfort zone.
o Roleplaying Responsibly: Ensure your character's actions enhance the group experience. Avoid personal attacks or disruptive behavior, even in-character.
· Sexual Conduct
o Zero-Tolerance Policy: Any form of sexual harassment—including inappropriate comments, jokes, gestures, or advances—is strictly prohibited.
o Game Content: Avoid introducing themes of a sexual nature into gameplay unless all players and the Dungeon Master have explicitly agreed to explore such themes in a safe and respectful manner.
o Respect “No”: If someone expresses discomfort or says “no,” immediately stop the behavior or topic in question.
· Enforcement
o Violations of this rule will result in immediate action, including removal from the game session and, if necessary, a ban from future events at the store.
o If you feel uncomfortable or witness behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to the Dungeon Master or store staff. Concerns will be addressed promptly and confidentially. Players can use certain phrases such as “Can we pause for a moment?” or “Can we take a break” if you’re feeling uncomfortable. For privacy, players may request a break by informing the game master quietly, by passing a note if necessary, ensuring efforts are made to maintain the emotional and psychological safety of the group.
By following the Rule of Respect, we create an environment where everyone feels safe and valued, allowing the magic of D&D to shine.
