We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Shopify E-commerce Data & Catalog Specialist to join our team on-site. This role goes beyond basic data entry — you will be responsible for building, organizing, and maintaining a structured, high-quality product catalog that powers our online store.
You will work directly with physical inventory while managing complex product data, including metadata such as genres, writers, publishers, release details, and other key attributes. This position requires strong analytical thinking, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to handle large datasets with precision.
The ideal candidate is process-driven, highly organized, and takes pride in accuracy, speed, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Upload and manage product listings in Shopify
- Build and maintain structured product data, including:Genres
- Writers / creators
- Publishers / brands
- Release dates and key attributes
- Ensure all metadata is accurate, consistent, and standardized
- Work directly with physical inventory to match and verify listings
- Write and format product titles and descriptions
- Upload and organize product images
- Set up product variants (condition, edition, version, etc.)
- Perform bulk uploads and updates using CSV files
- Use Excel to clean, organize, and manage large datasets
- Maintain SKU structure, pricing accuracy, and inventory alignment
- Identify and improve data processes and workflows
- Ensure consistency across the entire catalog
Requirements
- 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience (required)Strong proficiency with formulas, data cleaning, sorting, filtering, and large datasets
- Proven experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms
- Experience managing structured product data and metadata
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle high volumes of data efficiently
- Comfortable working with physical inventory in an in-store environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Reliable and process-driven
- Must be able to work on-site
- Experience with collectibles, comics, or trading cards
- Strong familiarity with comic/product metadata (writers, artists, publishers, storylines, etc.)
- Experience with bulk product imports and database-style catalog management
- Basic product photography and/or image editing skills
- Understanding of SEO principles for product listings

All product data — including pricing, SKUs, inventory, and metadata — is consistently accurate, allowing items to be confidently sold and processed without errors across both environments. Products are well-organized through clear categorization, standardized metadata (genres, writers, publishers, etc.), and properly structured collections, creating a seamless connection between inventory and the customer-facing website. This organization enables the site to evolve into a powerful, customer-driven experience where products are easy to find, browse, and purchase, ultimately improving efficiency, usability, and overall sales performance.
